Frequently asked questions

How can I prepare for a facial ?

There are a couple of things you can do to make your experience even better here at Qkare beauty.

  1. Take note or photos of your current skincare routine to make it easier for the esthetician to make recommendations
  2. Stop using any actives at least 1 week prior to your appointment to prevent any irritations/increased sensitivities
  3. No facial waxing/shaving 3-4 days before or after appointment
  4. If possible come with a clean face, clear from all makeup

How can I prepare for a wax?

  1. Stop all shaving for at least 2 weeks, hair must be at least a grain of rice in length to be removed successfully.
  2. Exfoliate at least 2 days prior to your appointment to remove all dead skin ( I recommend using a dry brush or chemical exfoliant)
  3. Drink lots of water ! This will ensure you're skin & hair is hydrated and will allow the hair to be removed effortlessly
  4. Do not drink caffeine or alcohol prior to appointment as this will cause more sensitivity
  5. Take a pain reliever 30-45 min prior to appointment to help with discomfort

How long will it take for my skin to clear?

Because acne can take up to 90 days to form, you may still have 90 days or acne that will surface. The acne products that you will be recommended will keep new acne lesions from forming that weren't already under the skin. In most cases our program will have your acne under control in about 3-6 months depending on the severity. Some acne types may take longer to clear. The biggest part of the clearing process is your commitment to being consistent with applying your skincare regimen as instructed and following lifestyle recommendations where possible.

How frequent should I get a facial ?

In most cases it's very beneficial to get maintenance facials every 4-6 weeks to keep up with your customized treatment plan but may vary by person. Acne bootcamp clients should be scheduling bi-weekly treatments to continue pushing the skin to clear.
